Tod A. Kubo   Choreographer

For 20 years, Tod A. Kubo's choreography has performed across Europe, Asia, Australia, and the Americas. Originally from the west coast, he was critically acclaimed for directing/choreographing productions for the Orange County Performing Arts Center, The McCallum Theatre, Christian Artists' Record Co., West Coast Opera, Pacific Symphony Orchestra, Saddleback Civic Light Opera, Onstage Theatre Company, Musical Theatre West, and more.  In 1998 Tod was inducted into the California Department of Education Hall of Fame for his professional dance contributions in our schools and in the field. 

Currently he is in production for the Prague premiere of "RENT" (opening August 8th), the Charlotte premiere of "Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson" at the Actor's Theatre of Charlotte (opening September 12th). In the fall he will be co-directing/choreographing the first regional production of  Alan Menken's "LEAP OF FAITH" for Piedmont Theatre, Inc.

Some additional choreography credits: DREAMGIRLS, FOOTLOOSE, CURTAINS, CABARET, NEXT TO NORMAL, MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS, GYPSY, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, GUYS AND DOLLS, HOW TO SUCCEED..., CHESS, MIKADO, HELLO DOLLY, JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING..., THE SOUND OF MUSIC, ME AND MY GIRL, FOOTLOOSE, TITLE OF SHOW, and THE MUSIC MAN. 

Tod has worked on benefits for charities such as "Splash" for AIDS Services Foundation OC, and several other events for Healing Odyssey Cancer Charity, Mammoth Hospital Cancer Foundation, and The March of Dimes. Currently he serves on the board for FTS "White Party of Charlotte" which benefits  Regional AIDS Interfaith Network (RAIN), Time Out Youth and The Charlotte Gay and Lesbian Center.
